Threads that go off topic - here and other forums.

One of the things I love about AULRO is that you never know where a thread will end up and where people will take it, no matter if it is a technical/serious topic, or a more lighthearted one.

I don't hang around on too many other forums, but on one I sort of hang around I posted in a thread - that was already waaay off topic and pulled a 'Ron' on them by correcting someone who said he could play 5 cords on his guitar - I chimed in and said that would be difficult and maybe he could play 5 chords on it.

Well, that went down like a lead balloon - and the entire thread was deleted - all 5 pages including the relevant information the OP was after. When I PM'ed the Admin team asking where it had gone, I was told in no uncertain terms that it was deleted because it was off topic and my post was the final straw...

I've never come across anything like this, but as I said, I don't get out much...

So, is this just a pack of humourless people or is this quite common out there in forum land?

Oh - feel free to take this off topic if you wish - I won't get upset...
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

We took guide dog Selby to the dog park today. He loved it. We'll be losing him in a couple of weeks, he'll be going to Albury.

Does he find his own way or does some body have to guide him?

Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But yell it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing.
