I really dislike my current policy writer/analyst position and would like to go back to a clinical/trauma role, but I'd be back on irregular shift work and probably 8 hour shifts. The result is that I'm staying with my current regular 4 X 10 hour shifts with every Friday off, which I grown used to.

Before that on shift work in ICU and Emergency I worked for about 30 years on mainly night and evening shifts ending up working probably 4 out of 5 weekends or part weekends.

Sometimes you have to compromise on the job to get the free time you want.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Staying determinedly off topic, I didn't realize that fish fingers and I are almost the same age. Fish fingers turn 60 this year. There you go ...

Wouldn't it depend upon how old the fish was?

That retort is as old as fishfingers.

I must look in the freezer and see if any ancient fish fingers have been lost in the icy wastes of the bottom shelf.

A friend of mine had an old sailing ketch that he had had for 30 years, & due to the depth of the freezers about 6 feet & being a top loader, he had never been able to empty the bottom of the freezer out, so could be some vintage fish fingers down there.
