Looks like the blinker/horn and wiper stalk on a lotus esprit is the same as the defender.

    Todays ammusements...

    - A thick Jeep Driver. Sitting in almost stand still traffic this morning approaching the West Gate bridge (driving in 1 lane only, being patient and letting in others when needed), a Jeep driver was doing his best to weave in and out of traffic to get to their destination faster. I noticed the same Jeep was still next to me 20 minutes and 4KM later when I exited at Kings way.

    - Dealers are thick. Dropped the mighty Hilux in this morning to get the hard cover fitted. Guy who greeted me didn't know anything about the job - it wasn't on his running sheet. I had to tell him what to do to resolve the issue (Go and speak to sush and such - they know about it). Had I not said anyting I think he'd still be there looking at his clipboard with a worried look on his face.

    - Camry's are crap. Well, 'DUH' I hear you say.

    - I am fat. Well, 'DUH' I hear you say again. They put the Camry so close to a tree that I couldn't physically get into it as the door would only just open. I call our dim witted friend over to move it for me. He could hardly get into it either and he looked like a rake.

    - I can't use keyless vehicles. Once dumb dumb had moved the car, he scurried away after throwing the keys back at me. Hmm, well I thought it was a key - just a black box with buttons (oh yeah, one of those keyless type cars - like Dad's old Kingswood). So I jumped in and pressed the 'START' button, assuming it would start - nope. Hmm, checked everything - handbrake on, check, in park - check. Tried it again - nothing. While trying to figure this out, one of myTechs called me for some advice. I asked him if he knew how to start one of these new-fangled contraptions. 'put yourfoot in the brake pedal' Well, OK, I mean - it's already got the handbrake on and is in park, but I'll humour you - it fired straight up. Talk about paranoid if they go to those lengths to stop you from starting the car. I'm assuming all keyless cars are like this, but I don't know - my 101 is easier to figure out.

Anyway, just thought I'd share the small things that amused me today - carry on.

One more that just took my fancy. Our ye olde style work laptops run Windows cave man or something similar, and Internet Explorer is the only option for an internet connection.

While doing some work (hard to believe I know) I had a popup come up that asked if I would answer 4 short questions regarding IE.

Well, sure, why not. The first 3 were about if I was using it on a work machine, then at work or home, then something else - I clicked the appropriate respose then the last question came up.

I couldn't answer it, as it didn't have the answer I would have picked, so I shut the window down - not before taking a screenshot of it for you all, you'll love this....

My answer would have been the little red X in the top RH corner of the screen.

My favourite feature of IE is that it enables me to download Firefox or Chrome.

In a modern Land Rover a message comes up on the dash that tells you to put your foot on the brake pedal.

Probably saves a lot of calls to LR assist.

I bet - I couldn't work out what was going on. Why can't they just have a key? Was that so hard? It's something I really just don't get. Changing something just for the sake of being able to doesn't mean it's a good idea. I hate having keys of stuff in my pockets when driving, so I put the black box thingy in the centre console where it rolled around annoying me for the whole trip - a big step backwards IMO, and certainly not an item that would make me buy a car, quite the opposite.

When you think about it - the "push start button" isn't really that new....

My 1960 & 1961 Series II both have this feature... And I guess that a Series I probably has it also...

Although my Series II also has a key..!
