My Neighbor Bill turned 100 the other week. He has a girl friend with partial dementia in a nursing home and wanted to visit her and surprise her with a couple bunches of roses and some bananas.
He needed a lift to the local supermarket and I was asked if I could take him.
On the drive down the hill, I struck up a conversation with Bill. Bill's pretty deaf so I had to shout out aloud.
Bill spent most of his life in the Vic railways and knows all the gossip.
I asked Bill, " Did you read in the local paper about the ex Vic railways employee charged with being a Pedophile and was molesting kids and young employees on the railway and on Puffing Billy?"
Bill replies, " Yes that was about me "
"No Bill", I said, " It was about a child molester!"
Bill reponds" Yes, I was in charge of all that!".
I tried to explain, but Bill just said " I worked on all the bridges"
I gave up after that, everything I said he interpreted differently.
God Bless Bill, at least we had a moment together.
Cheers,
Mario

It sounds like Bill does the answering for computerized phone systems. Could be a job opportunity for really old people?![]()

Don't underestimate the old Bill.
We got a letter in the mail today from the Victorian Deputy premier's office. It was addressed to all residents of our street. Subject was excessive loud Music.
It said the Police had been informed and local council.
I found out the near deaf Bill had complained about loud music to the Victorian government.
There has been incidents of loud music from 1 street behind, directly behind Bill's house. The strong Bass reverbing though my bedroom walls at 1am in the morning was getting a bit too much to bear. but locating the exact source was difficult.
Bill had called the police and they attended, but the culprits had shut down the noise. Bill thought it was his neighbors.
The cops unfairly thought Bill was imagining it and wanted details of his doctor.
Bill thought he was going mad, but I re assured him that there is excessive noise and I hear it. He was so glad to hear that he was not imagining it like the cops implied.
I emailed the office of of the deputy Premier and a gave them more information about where the source of the noise pollution was emitting from so they have passed on that info to the cops and council.
When your 100 yrs of age and have a letter from the Queen, Prime Minister and Premiers office, people take notice![]()
That reminds me of my cousins grand-dad. Years ago he bought a new car and when we asked him what he had bought, he proudly said - a red one! That wasn't exactly the answer we were expecting! Incidentally he had no idea what it was either, just that he liked the colour. We found out afterwards it was a Falcon. God love him! I have since met a few people who buy cars like that so am now not so surprised.
