Maybe you would like a flag that better represents our cultural heritage.

Canadian. It was designed by a Canadian. A member of the Ballarat Reform League.

I stand corrected. Now I have to find out why I thought it was an Italian.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.

It's a start. But there are at least another 350 nationalities / languages to be included.

Carboni, who was there, wrote what happened, from the miners perspective, a year or two later.

Simple fix. Ya dont like it, Leave. Must be lots of room in a few countries now as they all seem to be coming here! Must be 1 already with a flag you had better like

Makes a big/complicated flag. Submit your design. I'll look forward to perusing it if it makes the referendum.

Not an option. I'm an Australian citizen. My passport limits me to living here. ...plus I like it here so why should I?

Thanks Mick. That was it. The proclamation at the unfurling was "The Australian Flag shall triumphantly wave, a symbol of liberty."
    Cheers, Billy.

Remember, in 1854, Australia as a nation didn't exist. Queensland, Tasmania, Northern Territory and the ACT didn't exist.
It was unfurled by a minority of people who didn't represent the people of Australia or the government. They represented a small group of miners around Bakery Hill.
With that in mind, there is nothing stopping you unfurling your preferred flag design, proudly declaring it is the Australian flag and flying it from your flagpole.
You can even proclaim yourself to be President of Australia.
It's just convincing others. That's the problem.

I'd like to see you do it. Have a chat to Prince Leonard of Hutt.

Can I be your Commander in Chief of your army? I often pass Prince Leonard's Air Force base.
