I'm not going to Tesla bash this one personally - accidents like this are always going to draw media attention despite the overall lower fatality rate that Tesla's have which is something the media generally don't look at.
My thoughts are more around does the driver have any liability or responsibility on this? Not sure on the laws in the US but if it was here, I would have thought the driver would be charged.
Things seem to have gone very quiet on autonomous vehicles - certainly here - I wonder if this and similar issues will get sorted at all.
