It's the height of rudeness in Germany, to be late for anything. Their trains run on time like you wouldn't believe. I wonder if the percentage of watch wearers is higher there? I hope someone funds a study to see if there is a correlation between race, punctuality and watch wearing. It would be interesting to know what percentage of Ethiopian refugee watch wearers were late for dinner....I'm drawing a blank on Google.

.. I've always wondered about the interplay between language (sound of it as well as the grammar) and 'national personality'.
    Yes, it is a 'Chicken-or-the-egg' question !

On the other hand, there is a growing realization that too much 'Research' is .. well, BS, with Medical Science being over-represented...

    and here.... http://www.wakingtimes.com/2015/08/0...is-fraudulent/

But, if someone s cunning enough to gain funding exploring descending beer-bubbles, then Good Luck to them !

It might seem stupid, but this is one of the ways we collectively grow knowledge.
What we learn may not always be correct (humans make mistakes).
Sometimes people may fudge data (we hope they are honest though).
Sometimes it will seem silly on face value...
But somewhere, the research findings may be taken a little further, interrogated in a different way, and potentially, something awesome may be found.

This is science. Keep your collective heads in the sand and return to a cave if you can't accept that great knowledge comes from dedicated research.

I just had a few cans and couldn't see which way the bubbles went, now I'm having trouble seeing the cans.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Just did a quick search and found these. Looks like lots of different types of researchers (Chemists, Physicists and Mathematicians) had the same idea - and got funding too. Now that's worth going to uni for!

What about people like me who wear unreliable watches?
I once heard a scientist say that people who are always running late are Adrenalin junkies, getting off on the thrill of the race to the appointment.

Surely the perceived importance of the appointment is a factor in punctuality?

i.e. that meeting with the dodgy loan guy to explain why you lost his money/drugs/girl/car on a bet ... sort of like the 'Lock stock & two smoking barrels" movie plot, and "Crank"
