So Telstra won't fix your phone line!!!

A little over 12 months ago, a mate moved to a new home in the Southern Highlands.

He gets a land line connection so he can have the internet connected.

He gets his system through IINET, but over Telstra lines.

All goes well till a little over a week ago, when he calls me and tells me his land line has been switched with another IINET customer.

This doesn't effect his internet and as my mate doesn't not use the land line phone, he is not all that worried but the other customer is running a business.

My mates would normally get about one phone call a week but now he is getting 10+ a day.

He has been on to IINET and they have tried everything they can to get Telstra to fix the problem, and my mate has attempted to contact Telstra, all to no avail.

Last Tuesday, while talking to him I suggested he get his ( the other customers ) phone redirected, back to the other customer.

He reckons thats a great temporary fix, and got on to IINET.

Not such a good idea as it would be him getting the redirect charges for each call. So no go.

Then he calls me this afternoon. After trying everything possible to get Telstra to fix THEIR problem and totally fed up with all the in coming phone calls, he decides to redirect his phone.

WAIT FOR IT, not to the other customer, but to the office of his local Federal Member.

Lets see how long it takes to get the phones fixed now.

In the past I have had a really good relationship with Telstra.
It all went to **** when I switched to NBN.The NBN is handled off shore and the curry eaters have not got a clue
I had my ADSL cut off,a month before the NBN was working, and it couldnt be reversed.I just had to call for the 3rd month in a row asking why Im still getting charged for the ADSL service that got cut off before I had my NBN
The 3rd month in a row they have credited it back and ensured I wont get double charged again, somehow I bet I make the call on the next bill too

    Yep TIO.
Struggled with an intermittent line for 6 or more years with countless call outs.
All culminated in my mum not being able to reach me while she was having a suspected heart atttack.
TIO complaint lodged and within a week 50 mt of cabling replaced down the road.
The ****er is I just noticed NBN pits finally being installed in my area.

My guess is his provider is fobbing him off. They provide his service they should fix the problem. He should just switch to another provider.
    Cheers, Billy.

Hi Cuppa and in this case his service provider can't do a thing because the problem is in the Telstra exchange, so the service provider has to get Telstra to fix the problem, a problem that Telstra, itself, created.

It seems somewhat strange that the lines managed to get swapped in the first place and its just a coincidence that both lines are IINET customers?

Iinet it is own by TPG a company that start competing with NBN and plan to put a full fibre system in Australia.
This annoys Telstra and NBN .
I expect more sabotages in the future
I agree that contacting TIO is the only way.
