Thats Olde Scobes handiwork. His idea is he cant bang them in the hard ground so pokes them in the windrow.I must admit at night they point oit the danger very well. Its on a shire road so I guess we can get away with it,I imagine the Main Roads people would noy like it;);););)

Todays job.We dug the drain with the excavator a few months back, its still intercepting ground water moving thru the road, believe it or not, this is at a top of a hill!!!! We had a record dry winter and no spring rain, yet the drain is still running,I hope we have fixed the problem.
Same story, rip the road to 200mm and mix the cement in with the grader,4 tonnes in this section.

You are an artist Andrew :p
New gig.
Road widening, will be busy at this until Xmas.We have already prepared 7km,the last 2km to go,then prepare the 9km for sealing.
At the moment we are cleaning up the backslopes, pushing the drains out wider, then bulk the gravel in.The previous 7km has the gravel in,just needs mixing and compacting.
We have a new toy,a skid steer with a broom, certainly sweeps better than our old flogged out tractor mounted broom.

Different job,its what keeps my job interseting.
Widen this road to 8m with a 7m bitumen seal, its only 500m.Just bulking the gravel in here,no not gravel, rocks!!!!!,have a look at them!!!!.
At least they were only in the oven a short time when the world was made so they are breaking up easy, lots of clay with it so it will go down hard.
We got this gravel done today, tommorow some shoulder widening then its BUSY,getting the whole lot ready to seal, something like 8km of shoulders and some full width failure/repairs.That work is all ready prepared, just got to mix it and get the compaction/trim done.

Anyone can drive a grader, operating one requires talent though.

Anyhow,I boxed the shoulders out and top up with new gravel on top,we only needed to make the road safe at the moment.Start waterbinding/mixing everything tuesday.
