I know a bloke who was given a loverley big mary jane anna bud,he wrapped it in foil then stuffed it up the centre of the foil tube for safe keeping.
He kept telling us somebody must of stole his bud as he had checked all his hidy holes.9 months later the police drug dog found it,he says he remembered putting it there when he saw the dog wanting to rip the foil apart.
Living proof one shouldnt smoke dope;););););)

I find that if something useful that I was not sure where it was turns up, unless there is an obvious proper place or immediate use for it, if where it is found does not have major disadvantages, best LEAVE IT THERE!. Seems that if you move it, later can readily remember where you found it but not where you put it if you later want it in a hurry. .
Also worth remembering this principle when designing and /or making something (including Land Rover modifications) and it includes trial and error. You find a bolt or some other piece that seems could probably be incorporated in the project. Then after more looking and thinking decide that it would not. Is a good idea to put this piece back where it was found. Because later you sometimes again want it as the project evolves and most often remember where this part was originally found rather than where it was left after initial rejection.

My MIL has Parkinson's and forgets things. She was packing to fly on a trip. Started packing 2 weeks before leaving. Kept forgetting she had packed things and then packed them again. Got to the airport and got chosen for a random bag inspection. They kept finding packets of medications in her socks, undies etc everywhere. Took some quick explaining by my wife to save her from getting carted away for drug testing. Forgetfulness can be embarrassing.
BTW, I could have sworn I had 7 grandchildren, but I seem to have misplaced one of them...
Well, the other day, I boiled the kettle to make a cup of coffee. I place my cup near the kettle, got the jar of coffee and sugar out. Then I got sidetracked, to show Mrs Aus something in the Aldi catalogue.Quote:

I took the acoustic cover off the td5 years ago and put the dedicated bolts in a safe place.
When I sold the D2 in march I put the cover in the back but couldn't find the bolts.
I found them yesterday , standing out like dogs balls.
