Yes mine was written off but......I don't worry about hail storms approaching. I think it a bit over the top the reactions to storm warning.....half the office panic and want to go home, 99% of the time now of them are affected, they get an early mark from work.

The kilometres are getting too high in both my cars. If I could find a decent hail storm I wouldn't be worrying at all. Well, maybe I'd be worrying that it wasn't a good enough storm?

Pickles,1st sign of Hail head for the nearest under cover Servo.
Or if near a shopping centre head for the underground carpark.
    or
    Under a Bridge

Bit hard though if out in the remote areas.

My Disco was written off in the Brisbane city storm in November last year. What that meant in practical terms is the insurance paid out it's value, I bought it back at scrap value, and I'm quite happily driving around a 15 yr old dimpled car that otherwise drives very well, with most of the (limited) cash value of the car sitting in the bank offsetting the mortgage, rather than depreciating in the driveway.

Have been hoping my wife's car would get the same treatment, but no luck to date.

I do have to say, though, that I've been through 5 cyclones, including through the eye of a Cat 3, and none of those were as scary as being in a car in that storm.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The cars I care about are kept garaged.... If I'm out driving them .... well **** happens There isn't any point in owning a car your scared to drive

the poogoe 407 and old rangie are the general daily run-around vehicles.. If either of them got written off ....... Who cares, poogoes are a dime a dozen, and the rangie could be replaced with a nice LSE that I'd stick a proper gearbox in
