Proving them wrong off-road is the best part.
I was at 'Cruiser park in June and towed a few 4WD's out, all Jap crap. In all honesty it wasn't the vehicles (well maybe [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img] ) but the drivers.
Another instance was my brother-in-law's Rangie (85 auto with 31's on and no lockers) who attempted a hill and after a few goes made it manily because he kept on getting caught on rocks. He eventually took the right line and made it look simple.
Same hill, the Nissan GU with the 35's and the big lift had one go, being a smart arse headed for a big rock as he though he would clear it and got the rear diff caught on the offending rock. It took about a 1/2 hour to get him off the rock and still acting like a smart alec and commenting "couldn't taken the Rangie line, that's for girls".
This is why I predominatly off-road with Land Rovers. The comment didn't bother me a bit but it's always fun to prove the Jap 4wd's wrong for a change and plus I get sick of rescuing them.

I agree, I don't care what you drive, as long as we all enjoy. I am a bit anal when it comes to safety though on trips that's all as I have seen far too many accidents in my short-ish time of off-roading (maybe I'm a jinx [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img] ).
I have had to bve rescued by Nissan/Toyotas with several ribbings from the nissan/toyota drivers, always in a good way just a few instances in bad ways that leaves a bit of a sour taste.
I was running a trip to Beerburrun SF last weekend for the Range Rover Club and we ran into a few Sizi drivers. They were quite impressed how many Land Rovers were actually using there vehicles and made quite interesting comments (positive) plus really friendly and so forth. We also had a later P38A Rangie with us tackling some of the tricky stuff as well as Mick G's S2 Disco.
