How to build the Hawksbury River Road bridge

Hi folks, I think you will get a kick out of this film but also have a look at the other films, to the right.

These must be very new going on the number of views.

Here are a few more interesting films.

First one is Western NSW 60 years ago.

This one is so old, there is no sound. Construction of the Princes Highway between Engadine and Waterfall in 1928.

This one is about the Grafton to Glen Inis road and there is even an old ( new ) Land Rover in it. Check out the advancements in road building equipment in just 12 years.

Engadine to Waterfall - I think I could recognise one spot in that video at about 12 min. Between Woolies and Station Street heading south up the hill.

At the beginning of that video, a couple of those cars went rather wide on the corner! Did you notice, also, the black car with the producer gas equipment on the back. Dad built one for his car during the war as petrol was rationed. (Dad was a non-combatant as he'd lost an eye as a child.)

Fancy mixing and moving all that concrete by hand!

No safety harness, no hard hats, no safety vests.
