He died an alcoholic, and derelict. He outlived most of his old mates, and died alone. Many of his comrades from WW1 had a similar fate. Politicians don't tell you that when they make their fine speeches.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Yes, of course. But there are many stories from that conflict that will never be told. And, of course, he wasn't using a standard issue SMLE 303 rifle, but he deserves respect, all the same. It's a bastard of a job, but some one has to do it.

"As a sniper, Kyle was often asked about his weapons. While in training, he used four different rifles in order to know which weapon was the most useful in the given situation. In the field, he used the following:[8]

    a semi-automatic 7.62 NATO Mk 11 sniper rifle (patrol)
a 5.56 NATO Mk 12 Designated Marksman Rifle modified with the lower receiver off a M-4 to get a collapsible stock and allow full auto (for urban patrol)
a .300 Winchester Magnum M24 sniper rifle with MacMillan stocks and customized barrels, later replaced with a .300 Winchester Magnum Accuracy International. These two rifles were the ones he mostly used while in overwatch."

You'd find them if you were good at countering. Use FLIR or other such thermal imaging to locate, of course only if equipped and expecting it.

I shot 600 yards at our range at the weekend I hit the X ring 8 times which is around 7cm across and the 6 ring twice which is around 14cm. In sniper terms you are dead every shot. Some of the snipers in the pics are 50 yards away, a real sniper would have pulled the trigger long long before you got close enough to see him. I have shot 60 with 8 at 1,000 yards in the past again you would be dead every shot and that is just with a .308 not with a 50 cal sniper rifle..

Looks like this record was just broken:

I know it was an old thread, but I didn't see the sense in starting a new one
