I'm surprised at the total collapse of two wheels......
Shouldn't this go in TerryO's "which is better off-road" thread?😀
Certainly not as strong as the rims that where on my 80 series when it went over on its lid. Ours went over 4 1/2 times when doing 110km/h - outside rims dug into the bitumen hard enough to rip the tyre from the bead, dig nice big potholes in the tarmac and implant the bitumen and roadbase into the rim lip. Still they didn't buckle, crack or break. They where only 16" rims so there would be less leverage force on the rim centre than larger rims, but still that was a "soft" roll compared to what I went through
Steel or aluminium ?
I'd expect 130 HD rims to be unmarked after an incident like that, the centres are ridiculously heavy gauge plate.
I'd reckon the Mach V rims I have on ATM would do pretty well too seeing as Matt Lee originally built them for Dakar Landy's. :D
Ally. Look close enough and you'll notice it also snapped the panhard rods (snake racing adjustable not factory ones)
