Record low spring rainfalls in western Tas, and the Basslink connector has been broken for over a month. Tas Hydro has been forced to drag their Bell Bay gas fired power plant out of mothballs to make up for the forecast lack of stored water. Before Basslink went down they were buying a lot of Vic coal power.

We're going to need Tasmania increasingly in the future as climate change increases the 70% of the mainland which is already desert and we are forced to source more of our food from Tassie. How many grape growers have already moved to Tas?

    Its a big ask.
Most of the best agricultural land is now under tree plantations.

    Tassie Drought

It's just starting to rain in Hobart!. I think we're in for bucket loads over the next three days.
    We need every drop.

we got bugger all last night. Just enough to make me rush out and get the washing in and then wonder why I bothered.
Hoping for a big rain event later today. But its always a bit hit and miss in the Summer as to who gets it and who doesn't.
    cheers,

    Its raining its pouring...................

I can see why someone invented God.

A good steady downpour all through the night and a couple of storms. I might need to make an offering.

Now all we need, is for some of it to go up North West.
    cheers,

Well, Tassie wasn't forgotten on this Australia Day dessert,

even remembered that we are all 'girt' by sea.
