If a cop pulled me over in that Mustang I wouldn't mind at all, just to get a close up.
I'll bet the cops would be spending half their time showing pull overs around their Mustang, great car, Regards Frank.

well seeing they wont be purchasing locally built cars anymore they have my blessing to use whatever they want....there are some weapons available but not at $48k.

the VW Golf R wagon looks very practical to me.

The cops aren't the only ones who'll be looking around for replacements for locally built cars. All the hordes of taxpayer funded seat polishers in Fed, State and local gov. will be doing the same.
I suspect that sales of BMWs, Mercs, Audis etc will rocket as all the self important tossers we employ will need something befitting their self image so the only people to benefit will be the salesman and foreign car makers.
But never fear, when we have our very own elected president he'll sort it all out...probably from the back of his big Merc with blacked out windows and bullet proof body as he's swept in grand luxury to the airport for yet another overseas jolly meeting similar tossers.
I'm no believer in constant subsidies to industries but this destruction of the local car industry is wrong and may not have been necessary if ALL the myriad hordes of government departments everywhere were forced to purchase Australian built vehicles.
At the very least subsidies would have been much lower.
And many more people would have been employed not just smarty pants salesman and their bosses.

Queensland Police have a "no pursuit" policy, as does Victoria, so why do they need pursuit vehicles?
Price is irrelevant as all government vehicles are sold at a profit, resale value is more pertinent.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I'm not talking price or resale value. I'm thinking more of the huge amount of job losses in the manufacturing and associated industries.

Slightly off topic,i saw an article about the police in the US,when they gradually changed all their patrol cars from rear wheel drive to front wheel drive.

They tap the rear of vehicles to spin them around, something that isn't done here.

Many of the older officers could not do this well enough to pass the tests, in the front wheel driven vehicles. Some officers actually were employed in different departments as they failed the driving tests.

It will be interesting to see what they do here.
