- fair enough, as Virgin re-sells for OPTUS, and their coverage outside the Metro area ain't the best. But a passenger (I drive buses) had perfect signal on her TELSTRA.
Obvious solution is to get another pre-paid (for work use only) phone and run a TELSTRA - based provider.
So I have, a you-beaut Samsung S4 'smart-phone' ( to complement my Virginal and stupid flip-fone) on the ALDI pre-paid, which best suits my needs.
Today, NO Virgin signal (expected) ...and the 'smart phone' / TELSTRA-ALDI tells me that there is ''NO NETWORK"
Hmm... another driver pulls out his TELSTRA phone...which shows 3 bars of signal. We make the required call... hang up..then he gets "Emergency Calls Only" on his phone.! (around midday)
One wonders just "who?" is playing what.....
I've heard a rumour that (some?) carriers favour coverage for their onw brand-name clients, but limit the range/speed/coverage of their re-sellers....
I love a good conspiracy theory ! But what if it's true ??? :o
