Anyway, I need a windscreen-mounted cradle/antenna, and this fits the bill.... albeit 'Not cheap'.... - Think I can claim it on tax as it's become a "requirement" of employment.

I don't own a mobile phone.
Be very hard pressed to find people these days who don't have a mobile. Good on you, sometimes I pine for the good old days. But like many I think I'm now addicted to having my phone and would miss it if it was gone.
I'm with Telstra, most of my mates are on other carriers, they don't pay as much, seem to have better inclusions but with Telstra I've never had any service problems. Now my adsl is out. Perhaps when all phones are out of contract it's time to change.
The passive antenna is virtually not any better than no antenna.
With a proper external antenna, and mobile to suit,at times, you can plug the antenna out and have no reception at all, nothing.
Plug it in and you will have full reception, all bars illuminated.
With the external antenna, height is your friend,i have mine mounted on the roof rails.
Ah, found it (again) at last....

To be difficult... The SAMSUNG S4 is a Model GT - L720 and it appears to be different from the one illustrated above. My L1 port is located between the micro SD memory card and the battery, the R1 between the SIM and side of phone.
