Here's a few more, dunno if I'd drive 100ks to any pub when I think about it, but the ones I'm mentioning are worth stopping at, either just passing for lunch or camped in the area and you want a night out from cooking.
Like anything, things change, pubs change hands and it may not be the same as it was, people have different tastes, chefs/cooks have bad days, my way of checking out places/pubs, is to visit to get an idea, check out the atmosphere(The Vibe to quote The Castle) that's usually enough, of coarse it doesn't always work.

Chenz tipped the Peel Inn, when I asked back in August. Good one. I remembered it from a Thunder Rally years ago.
The Plough Inn at Bulahdelah is good too. I suppose everyone will be flying past now.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
Yep a good recommendation on the lions den in Cooktown great food and music. We stayed overnight and is a good spot but were kept up till 2:30am. Pub itself if brilliant
Currently staying out the back of the pub at Coen who do a good steak and camping is $5 a night for quite a good campsite so it gets a thumbs up from me
Plenty of Pubs with good food,....only thing is that the food can vary?
It can be good when say, I go,....but if the Chef changes, then sometimes the quality changes also.
A few from me:
Both Pubs in Wycheproof.
Farmers Arms, Daylesford.
The Stump, Port Fairy.
Pickles.
Any recomendations on good pubs or eat em up places down along the Coorong, say Kingston SE, Robe, etc as we are heading over that way soon? We are usually partial to some good sea food when travelling in coastal areas such as there.
Cheers, Mick.

The Lions Den Hotel was good, but you have to camp well away from the building or you will be up half the night.
I'll throw in the Bellingen Hotel if you're in that area.
Maybe we should have a section on places to eat while travelling.
Yep that's what I was hoping for as I love a good pub meal, or any meal for that matter. I always like to recommend some places to people that are passing by the coast and was hoping to get a list together for of decent ones to visit while we are touring up north. Were you thinking of another thread of places to eat or a section? Either would be brilliant.
