Of course these deaths are the result of stupidity or inattention on one of the drivers part. But shouldn't cops as part of their policing also be partly responsible for educating motorist?
Surely if they catch a minor offender it would be more effective to pull them over and advise them of their infringement and issue a caution?
Not that I see much in the way of education of any kind in papers or on TV.
There'll be much wailing and moaning about motorists not getting the message, but what message is that? "Drop 5 to save lives"? Where is the evidence to support a nice little catchy phase like that?

PS. Live in the academy area and see for yourself some of the bad driving displayed by cops driving all types of vehicles. Bad road positioning, no indications.... that's the sort of example many people see and copy it.
