Remote area first aid course recommendations sought

Has anyone done a remote area first aid course that they would recommend?

I feel something like this would be very good for remote travelling (and also when participating in Club activities). I have done many first aid courses in the past including several specific to marine environments, but I am interested in something more focused on the environment/activities found in 4WDing in remote or isolated areas.

I have a reasonable amount of "practical application" experience in first aid and remain current in basic first aid, but something more "tuned" to our environment is of great interest to me.

    Hoping to hear your recommendations...

Have you asked your GP? Ours is happy to supply us with advice and various medications that would be useful on remote area trips.

Yes I have, thanks Don. Our GP is very useful for advice on many of our travels, local an overseas.

However with this I am more looking for first aid courses that deal with remote area stuff. There are several courses available through quick Googling, but I hope someone has comment on something they may have done (good, bad or otherwise).

Try your ambulance service, QAS offer excellent courses in Queensland.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

The Red Cross used to have courses. I imagine they still do, and you'd imagine that remote area specific knowledge would be very useful to them.
    Cheers, Billy.

The trainers at Land Rover Experience will arrange Remote Area First Aid courses. They will be doing one for members of the LROC Sydney Branch in the near future.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

St Johns ambulance basic first aid courses are good, I have to do them at work every 18 months. They are just about damage control until you can get the professionals there.

Thanks. They're the same courses I do regularly as well.
