Good luck with it Dave! Nothing worse than being out of work. Nothing better than getting back on the horse. Enjoy the trip(s).
For those unaware I sold my business last Jan 5th. Although I have just turned 60, I can't yet afford to retire.
As we have been living off savings I thought it was time to look for some work.
I went and was a small local truck operator who said he would put my number in his phone.
Two days latter I get a call to see if I could I take a truck to Melbourne, which I thought was perfect, as I have not driven a truck for nearly six years.
I was supposed to go this morning but I got a call saying that this job has been cancelled, but would I like to go to Sydney, to which I accepted.
A bit latter I was asked if I would like to then do Brisbane out of Sydney which I also accepted.
Talk about being thrown in the deep end.
Leaving in a couple of hours.
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

A few of the many golden rules to remember....
-One overnight bag should carry enough cloths for a week, your not on holidays now.
-It does not matter how much running around you do unloading/waiting/loading the job starts as the sun sets, that's when you have to hook in.
-Be careful where you hang your towel at truck stops, get it wrong/right you'll have some company, "hey honey"![]()
