    We caught up with David and his wife when they were in Darwin, he said he was slowly headed south , looks like he was telling the truth if they are only in Alice.

    There are a number of pretty spots as well as those already mentioned.
    Glen Helen for a counter lunch and cold refreshment.
    I think Palm Valley is a suitable day tour but it is a full day and IMO well worth it.
    I would suggest a visit to Trephina Gorge and Arltunga (early gold mine) in the East Macdonnells and the popular Standley Chasm.
