Well it seems today my second , and last , Ipod classic has decided to toe up. I am really going to miss having my entire library on hand when out. Shuffle was so nice as it seemed I had my own radio station. Never thought i could get attached to a gizmo.
Battery or storage failed in the iPod? I replaced the battery in my old iPod. The storage in it is a tiny hard drive the size of a CF card!

This one decided not to respond to the menu or reset, Apple wont do a remote cause it is too old. Also it doesnt seem to want to charge via the mains , but when plugged to the computer itunes freezes up and doesnt respond. The older one no longer accepts new music , the battery seems problematic. We have the one 64 gb left but now sitting on the same amount in the library with another lot yet to be recorded.
I feel for you , I have an original iPod from 2001 .......
Has started freezing -and my old computer died recently so it won't talk to the 'new ' Mac - which is about 6 yrs old .
The newer ones are a lot more fragile also , I think .
not good.
Suggest it buried separately with honours.
cheers,

Yeah, if the battery is very low it may take a long period of charging before it revives enough to operate. Give it a couple of days. If that fails, try a new battery.
Gave the battery a good charge 12 + hours off the mains input and still the samr. Very little response from the commands and still showing a full memory of which it should still be about 90 gig to go. A battery change might be the go but as it didnt respond when on mains power , I think it is now just a play back device. Now do I look for $450 to get an out of warrantee inspection or a new and less usefull model ?
Thanks for the responses.
