My brothers mate was making a generic Grange, for personal consumption and friends, including the cute little boxes. Got sprung due to a spelling error on the label. The 10,000 bottles in a hayshed in Kyneton raised some eyebrows.
When I think about it, he has lots of dodgy friends, haven't seen the Moran's in ages
Well, we went to the Maleny Show on Saturday where I bought some Riversleigh wines from St. George - makers of the famous (insert rude word) Great Port.
Saturday night was so windy I thought the TV aerial was going to levitate, so we stayed in front of the fire and cooked Korean, which was delicious. I can report the tawny went down well and we all slept in the following morning and were very relaxed and comfortable.
If you like port Mick, Mount Tamborine Vineyard and Winery (the one right in the middle of the Gallery Walk) do a very nice chocolate port. Have only had tasters of the other ones they do, but as the chocolate one is SWMBO's favourite, I don't really get a lot of choice. :D
Someone in the off topic thread suggested ATF was a suitable replacement for red wine. "But ATF can't be ingested!" I hear you say... well Mumma didn't raise no fool, so I consulted the MSDS [ame=http://www.ucps.k12.nc.us/cms/lib8/NC01910453/Centricity/Domain/108/SDS/ATFMerconDexronIII.pdf]>>here<<[/ame]. Apparently ingestion is not believed to cause a problem. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
I decided on a 1991 vintage dexron 3 from my Nissan 300zx. I'd put this one away a number of years back with a flush of the steering system, and it has since imparted plenty of flavour from the workings of the PAS system over this time.
Being a mineral based oil, this vintage ATF is pungent on the nose, with a heavy petroleum backbone and predominant 'burny' notes. I likend this to the smell of burning rubber that one might expect to encounter after walking into a room that Steady Eddy had recently had intercourse in.
The mouthfeel is viscous and oily enhancing the longevity of the flavour profiles on the palette. At first you get the burn, then the screaming starts
In the decanter, this ATF has a distinct yet light red hue, one can only assume is a by-product of the manufacturing process where they engineer the slippery pixies into the concoction in big stainless steel vats.
The preferred method of ingestion is infrequently, usually accomanied by cussing while prone on ones back under a vehicle with a 19mm spanner close to hand (pesky banjo bolts). Some have reported that occasional tastings may 'put hairs on your chest' or 'cure what ails you'. Others say that it is a registered remedy for constipation in the arab nations, or even an off-licence substitute for the morning after pill in larger doses...
All this however takes a back seat to the fact that it is unanimously agreed that it is an acquired taste, and your results may vary.
Bottoms up!
Keep them coming Mitch, that was very good:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
Andrew
You need to do an EP90 taste test.
Only a series owner would know that stench;););););)

I want lifeguard 6 and 8 compared. They're an expensive drop!

This is a exquisite premix of wild turkey and cola. Most of you have probably had a WT&C before, but this one is exceptionally good.
Master distiller Jimmy Russel concocted this fine blend. Wait, what?!
