Still nothing from ABS, and here we are on census day.

    Don't worry be happy.
You will have 2 weeks to submit before follow up.

Just recall what you were doing on the 9th, that is if you cannot get on line in the meantime, or cannot get the help number.

I think one of the problems from people I have spoken to is that many people tried over and over to get on the line. There are 600 operators AFAIR.

You can't ring them. The system is in meltdown. They won't even return my email.Jim

Just done ours online (the form arrived over the weekend) and it was pretty quick and painless. There were big notices on the Census home page:
We are experiencing a high volume of calls
Do not worry if you have not received your Census materials. You will not be fined if you complete your Census after Census night. Try calling again after August 10 when we expect call volumes to reduce.

This thread isn't in Current Affairs so I can't say what I really think without being accused of being political.

I'm wondering how many Australians they will find with the name "John Smith" and "Jane Smith" .... I'm betting a good 50% of the population

Rwe your name, make your intentions clear in question 50.

Also, shout out to all the other pastafarians out there.

    I did mine online.
Then I got to the question: Do you have internet access?

What did they think I was using, smoke signals?

Just swallowed my objections and sat down with the code and tried to log into the census but the site won't open. Maybe the abs underestimated the demand and it is frozen.
