Same in QLD, providing the lights are specifically signposted as "u-turn permitted"

It seems the U Turn at lights is one of the few rules much the same across the country.
Seems the same with cop drivers though, probably straight out of the academy into a traffic vehicle with minimal training and a "I've got lights on the top so I can do what I like on the road" attitude.
According to a sergeant I knew lots of them won't join unless given a pretty car to drive.......thankfully many have got a better attitude to the job of policing than just handing out tickets.
However, I for one am always pleased to see a copper as the idiot other drivers always seem to behave themselves better whenever they're around. :D
Not a job I could do or would do, I can't imagine how bad it is turning up at some of the multiple death fatals we've had on the roads here lately so if they break the rules a bit to get a coffee, I don't mind.

Umm, just thinking.....if you reported the guys and they were taken offline that's one car two police man that are not available to fight real crime. ......... But I suppose everybody on hear has never did something wrong, got away with somethings at work.
Really? Another Cop bashing thread?
Hardly the crime of the century..
And if you had done it you may just be surprised - I've done similar without repercussions.
Yeah, and it would take two shifts each to do the paperwork and a week each to do some course so they never do it again. What a waste of time and money.
And, like generally all, they're good cops, good and dedicated at what they do. This incident might be mildly eyebrow raising but in reality is no biggy by any stretch.
I stick to my donut heist theory.

Just asking are you sure they didn't actually have a job at the coffee shop? If something happened there surely police can attend without having to somehow indicate to all and sundry that it's a job. If they knew it was a coffee shop and were buying coffee id be surprised if they didn't know where it was before going there...
Just saying. I'd be surprised if anyone activated the blues for coffee!
