Was Hazelwood as unreliable.
It can be made reliable again but money needs to be spent. When it was in Government ownership it was left in a holding pattern for years with no shuts or any meaningful maintenance. Also the morale there is in the toilet at the moment due to the staff and pay cuts.Quote:

I come from a heritage that fought for the values of being Australian. When I read the posts, such as I have read today about temperatures, I despair for this country. Hazelwood only closed because the Victorian Government ( see how careful I am ) chose to triple the royalties for the coal Hazelwood used. It is interesting that the Victorian Government did NOT do the same thing for the other generators in the LaTrobe Valley. Nothing political though, hey Gav?Quote:
