Why rooftop solar is disruptive to utilities -- and the grid

An excellent article on what old style energy companies feared from three years ago. Meanwhile, solar panel installation rates have steeply increased and the grid has not collapsed. More than 10 000 household batteries have been installed in Oz during 2017 alone, and the rate of battery installation is accelerating. Household batteries have the ability to chop the head off the "duck curve" if configured correctly. And to protect their income, energy companies themselves are moving into large scale solar (hundreds of MW) and storage projects. The old adage "if you can't beat them, join them" comes to mind.

Your not playing fair Eevo. Most of the articles you post aren't even from The Age, Guardian or the ABC. So how can they be trusted.
Anyone notice that wind energy in Australia totals about 15% of capacity as at 3.00 Pm on 13/5/2018.
Some power would be handy in the current cold weather.
Wonder where we would be without coal?
