the majority of wind generators tripped out before they were meant to.
all generators (of all forms) will trip out at 47hz to protect the generator
solar/wind/batteries wont add stability. they add little inertia, no frequency stability.
they are cheap for a reason.
it must be hard to constantly argue and fight against renewables and alternate energy production when you full well know it is going to completely consume fossil fuel generating systems in a very short space of time.
you would not in any way honestly consider owning a Ford model T as your everyday drive and fossil fuel power generation is of the same vintage.
these things you want to hang onto , were designed and developed in the 19th century.....isn't it time to redirect your intellect(which you guys seem to infer I don't have) into update, modern, scientifically and now practically proven clean and free fuelling energy systems.
you naysayers use every other modern scientifically proven accessory to your homes and vehicles , why do you hesitate to include renewable and alternate power generation in your everyday life.

Not sure how an option to get paid for lost production is going to send companies screaming offshore. This is about planned shut down of selected high demand processes for an hour or two instead of a total blackout at the plant. That's the point of signing contracts, they have to be an advantage for both parties.
Diesel gensets are one of the options being mentioned by the SA government. Tasmania did it and didn't go broke within weeks, so I've heard.
