Wind gust of 120kph at Mount Crawford. Blew and rained in Camden Park but power still on.
A 'once every three years' event apparently.

Aah yes, coal mines 500km away stop the trees from blowing onto the powerlines all over the state. Must be all the thick greasy smoke in the air, like oil on water.
No outages at all, fancy that...
https://www.powercor.com.au/power-outages/
grease is a lubricant, its aresolised and carried by the wind the grease gets on the trees and then the wind just slides right by due to a lack of friction. No friction no force so the trees keep standing.
This is the real reasons the greenies are against the dino burning stations. the oil in the air gets on the blades of the wind mills making the air slide off the blades reducing the efficiency of them making them seem economically nonviable due to low power output.

Talk about carnage!! Pager dropped at 01:15.. Was lying awake for the inevitable! From 01:30 to 06:00 was spent clearing and opening all roads into/out of Williamstown, 06:00 until now was spent dealing with the 'muppet' callouts... "My trampoline is on the roof, my drive is blocked, there's a giant (6' long) tree on my roof" etc etc etc!!! None of them have the will to get of their arses and tend to their blocks!! Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

With ya there Sitec, I was up all night, had leaking house roof, 10m section of asbestos fence blew over, shed roof flapping...no way was I going to bother SES for that, I dealt with it. 2hrs sleep lastnight, and all day today cleaning up. Joys of property ownership! After seeing the news tonight, I consider myself one of the lucky ones...glad I didn't bother the SES.
All of our deck chairs blew over. Are you sure the SES won't come and set them up again for me?
We copped a shellacking last night. 112mm overnight. Wind like nothing else! Multiple trees down across the property. One missed the MAN by about a metre, so that was lucky. Creek overflowed and washed away parts of the driveway. So we spent most of the day chainsawing things and building a huge bonfire pile. Power went around 1:30AM. Still not back on, so running everything on our gennie.
Hope you have a quieter night tonight. Many thanks to blokes like you that get amongst it and help out others.
I laughed so, so, so hard when I first saw this...
