    Of course not. Once they're up, no-one has to shovel coal into their boilers, clean the tubes etc. They are very low maintenance compared to thermal plants. The energy input cost is $0.00 per tonne.

    But wind farms are owned by companies with other generation, so they can weather low prices when their operating cost is close to zero. Short term low costs will be followed by periods of higher price once inefficient plant has been squeezed out.

    BTW, what's "suppy"?

    Wind farms and battery banks are teaming up to generate and store power until it is really needed. That will stabilise the grid and prices over time.
