    The system is failing us

The person next door just came over to tell me her dog has been poisoned, and her house had been broken into, she has a stalker which has been reported. I rangthe police 000. They rang back and said were very busy it could be a long timebefore we can attend. I went over to check house .Low life gone, disappointed, could have had some some fun sorting things out.. Now this woman is a bit eccentric, but does not deserve this response

Its sad when our taxes don't provide the lawmen needed in these times.
V8Ian reported a poor 000 police response yesterday.
Its not the law men it is as you say THE SYSTEM

By saying she's "eccentric" are you saying she's mad or what? If the cops have had many calls from this same person they may well be treating her calls as being not exactly priority.
Cry wolf too often and this is what happens. I'm sure cops everywhere have to give priority to those they think are in immediate danger.

She is not mad, but has reported a stalker. No she does not call police all the time. Regardless who ever you are, if a person comes into your house kills you dog, steals things the police should respond, to my mind quickly, as the person who did this is not right and will affect other people. Unfortunately I did not see him.

I rely on my nearest neighbours, 30 m away from a shed with all my shiz in it when I'm not there.

Nice young bloke with on and off GF's, 3 staffies, 1 pig dog, plenty of tatts, a few guns and a friendly attitude.

    Works for me, DL

That's almost as good as having a work unit near a bikies HQ. One of my mates is that lucky and can even leave the doors open safely while doing errands. The bikie's take it as a personal affront if anyone messes in their immediate territory. Whilst I have reservations about the actions of some people, its worth paying a premium for that kind of "service".

A big part of the problem here in Vic, is simply not enough cops where they are needed.

I can't go much further as I don't want this thread to turn political.... but with posts like this and the crime rates climbing in Vic like they are, you don't need to be a rocket scientist

A very different experience in Perth last night.

New set of town houses just completed across the road (no tenants yet) and a silver van with guys coming and going by torch light about 2100.

Called WAPOL within 2 min a call back from a patrol car on it's way (sirens in background) wanting to confirm details etc. Within 5 min 4 cars on the scene and bad guys nabbed.

Maybe they had more urgent and serious matters happening and had to defer other matters. Why don't you take her to the station and get her to make a report.
