CLAYTONS FISH & CHIPS , the fish 'n chips your not having

Just had the Worst cutomer experience . I bought some fish and chips yesterday was was very impressed with the taste of the product. So today Heather and son Kris after having a sample of mine yesterday decided they would like some today. My Son ordered and paid and when he arrived home we found that we were missing a large proportion of our order. All we got was one scallop and chips!. Missing the fish, the potatoe cakes , the dim sim. Kris rings them and owner said to son " oh it took you long enough to complain. " We don't live around the corner , in fact some kilometers away. So Kris and Heatherr drive back to collect the missing items. They then drive all the way home again only to find they botched up again! This time all we got was chips. ( Which we already had) no fish, no Dimmies not potatoe cakes. Heather rings again and owner was quite rude!. They said they were closing, so Heather & Kris rushed back , and returned everything and demanded a refund. None of the staff would own up to the botched orders. We have never experienced such shocking customer service and the feeling like we had jouped them or something, when all we wanted was what we ordered. Very Very disappointed, they must be on some sort of drugs or something. They have Lost a customer and will spread the word of our disatisfaction.

I had a similar experience recently. All that was missing was the Dim Sims but it really bugged me because I was really looking forward to it.

When I was a kid Queenscliff was still a proper fishing port.

Fish and chips involved scallops from Port Philip Bay before some state polititian shut that down to get votes, Bass Strait gummy shark (prime flake) done in true tempura batter.

I used to watch George and Andy putting the ice chips in the batter, not bad for a pair of Greeks doing Japanese 30 + years ago. Dunno if they 'invented' this themselves or someone showed them. Lovely people.

The potato cakes and chips were made from Drysdale potatoes. A semi loaded with sacks would unload behind the shop at the start of December.

Nothing like it anywhere any more. Took it for granted, you'd pay a fortune to get the same now.

To get around the trailer trash queue way, way out the door all we did was order over the phone and go straight to pick up and pay at the designated time.

I thought you were camping Chris? you must have good internet coverage in the camper?

The sad thing was those chips from this place were good, not like those frozen chips that everyone uses these days, these tasted like fresh cut jobs and were real thick meaty ones. What a shame.

I know the feeling and it is sometimes too far away to drive back.
I bought some KFC many many years ago in Shepparton, we were traveling and were hungry. So once I got to the car I thought I would have a piece of chicken, we ordered a certain amount and when I opened the box there was only 2 pieces. I went straight back into the store and the staff sort of looked at me "as if to accuse me of eating them in the 15 sec walk to may car" There was no finger licking oil dripping from my lips so it was impossible for me to have scoffed them on the way to my car. Take away seems like you have to open it up in front of them before you leave the store, happened a few times now that we bought something on the way home only to be jooped.
