    WHY????

I'm at work at the moment, 889km from home.
SWMBO phones me this morning to tell me that the Feral kids from next door are over & driving her mad.
I tell her to give them 1/2 an hour then tell them our kids have to do their chores so they will have to go home.

An hour later SWMBO phones again to say the power is off? Could I look up for faults on the internet (power out, internet out), I have a look, tell her No, no faults reported.

Then she tells me the next door kids left about 10 minutes before the power went off so she's going for a walk.
She walks up to the power pole on our land, about 300 meters through the scrub up a rocky hill.
The pole has a power box at the base, ever last switch in the box had been turned OFF!
The door to the box was open & a toy the next door kids had left with was on the ground.
To put it lightly SWMBO was a little ****ED OFF!
We have 3 fridges & 2 large freezers, if SWMBO had been going out & they did that?

SWMBO says she was not in anyway nasty to these kids, just told them they would have to go so all the chores could be done.
Who or what brings up kids to do this sort of stuff?

These kids do come over a bit, are very destructive (have smashed a TV, a tablet & a few of our kids toys & eat us out of house & home) and they Lord it over our kids, but we put up with them so our kids have someone different to play with.
Bad idea I think. Our kids would be better off on their own.

I am sorry I wouldn't stand for it. What are the parent like can you talk to them or are they the same as the kids. If they are the same I wouldn't let the kids come over and I would explain to there parent why this is so. We are just lucky that our kids have every well behave friends /young adults.
They always clean up after them self and say hello and thanks for having us over when they leave. Just lucky I suppose. Heather

    Parents?
I have never seen or spoken to them.
SWMBO reckons he (she has never seen Mum) is a dag!
Doesn't look after his dogs etc.
SWMBO has his phone number but I don't know if she would talk to him about it.
She did call the Council Dog people on him a while back because she got sick of his dogs attacking our old Red Dog.

Well it looks like they are drop kick and I wouldn't let them come over again. I would explain to your kids why you are doing this, so that they can understand. Do your kids want them to come over, would they understand why you are doing this,I do not know how old your kids are, but I think most kids understand these days. Heather

Ban the brats, your kids will emulate the little horrors.

Probably best to have nothing to do with them. the kids probably are probably fed crap at home (ever noticed how kids fed processed foods full of colours, preservatives and chemicals are bouncing off the walls and destructive ...). Usually there good kids, just hyper which makes them destructive.

We let our kids have fruit loops for breakfast once when we were on holidays... Never again ... one of them went nuts .. crazy ... bouncing off the walls. no doubt the metabolism can't handle one of the colours in that breakfast cereal... Imagine if we fed that kid processed crap all day like that food.

The food the kids eat at your place is probably the only decent food they get.

Doing things like turning off the power ... They would do things like that because there parents would probably think it's funny (as it's something the parents would do).

I don't really see an answer to your problems. The issue is the parents. The kids will act out like the parents do.

Can you put a lock on thr power box. Then if it gets broken into you can call the police. Problem people like that will probely retaliate.

How old are these horrors? Being away from home often makes it hard to take decisive action. I recommend a quiet talk to your local police Sgt. , if for nothing else but to give them a heads up. And give your wife peace of mind.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The kids are similar ages to our 5, there are 3 of them.
4 of our 5 are Special Needs so it can be difficult to explain some things to them.
I don't think they have a great home life, I don't have evidence of this it more the Dad doesn't care much what they do more than anything.
We are probably extra carful with our kids because of their issues & SWMBO is quite strict with them making sure she always knows what they are doing & where they are & making sure they have chores & take responsibility for bad decisions.
It would seem these kids wouldn't know what that was.
Anyway SWMBO will phone tonight & we will discuss what to do, though I will get onto the power mob to get a lock (the meters are in the box).
Must admit the couple of times these kids have been around while I have been home they haven't stayed long.
I have no trouble razzing them if they don't adhere to our house rules.

See what SWMBO has to say if she has calmed down.
