I am not "Bitter" But I am dissapointed about all the left wing "Touchy Feely" crap being forced down our throats over the last 2 decades.
What a pack of "Pussies" we have become, It's No wonder that some of the new arrivals take Full advantage of our **** weak judicial system and the legal aid lawyers that are paid by the tax payers are having a feeding frenzy defending these ratbags.

Trout I dont disagree with you wholly. There have been sentences I have seen which I shake my head over. Having said that most judges to a great job most of the time. Your broadbrushed comments about lawyers are offensive to many hard working lawyers who actually work very long hours for a lot less pay than you might think to help people. There are exceptions but I bet there were a few Skippers who you would have been happy to leave out in the drink too.

    Cheers

Ian, might I recommend Shaddow's Run:
    You are being redirected...
I think you can buy it at Dan Murphy's. It's a wine suitable for quaffing, in my opinion.

My favourites are Short Row Shiraz, Merlot, Vixen and Savignon Blanc. Oh, I have a JSM in the cellar somewhere.

A lawyer dies and goes to Heaven. "There must be some mistake," the lawyer argues. "I'm too young to die. I'm only 55." "Fifty-five?" says Saint Peter. "No, according to out calculations, you're 82." "How'd you get that?" the lawyer asks. Answers St. Peter, "We added up your time sheets."

A good mate of mine is a very good lawyer who happens to work for Legal Aid atm.
He's been in private practice, did quite well (he's a very good criminal law lawyer) and was recently head hunted by a major practice in the city he lives but when he did his due diligence said "thanks but no thanks"
    He has a conscience.

He's not rolling in it by any means and i have a bit of an inkling as we shared a house for seven months not that long ago.

I have doctors, lawyers, barristers and accountants in the family (uncles & aunts to nieces and nephews). I can tell you they're not rolling in it. It's all tied up in their investment portfolios.

I agree with you, things are pretty bad in Melbourne, hence why I started this thread.
I have friends in the Police, who despair at making arrests, only to see the perpetrators out on bale in the next day or so.
Increasing numbers of offenders have excuses these days, even when they are big time multiple offenders, they STILL have an "excuse", still get bale & go on to re-offend, jeez, ya don't believe me?..... it's in the press daily.
I think our Police are amongst the best in the world, can't say the same about our "Judiciary",...."ya do the crime, ya do the time" doesn't seem to apply in Vic. any more.
We visited New York many years ago & were a bit worried about where we could walk. Basically "anywhere except Central Park at night", we were told. Mayor Guiliani had been in power for three years at the time, and that was his motto,.....we were told that he had dropped the crime rate 60%. There were Police everywhere on the beat, we never felt threatened anywhere,...can't say I feel that safe in Melbourne any more, because I don't....there are house invasions happening all the time, everywhere, no suburb is immune,...we keep our security doors locked 100% of the time,.....never worried about it until a couple of years ago.
    Pickles.
