So you're no longer in uniform?

    Welcome to Perth Dave!

I'm sure you'll have no problem finding accom or a job. Good spannermen are always a rare commodity and are never out of work long.

    Cheers

    Steve.

Geez mate, that's a big temperature change from Katherine. Hope all goes well, Look up Tristan (P6X6) on REMLR, he is also a spannerman with Westrac and lives in Morley and does fly in/out to a mine near Leonora. Might be some jobs out there. Been talking to a bloke who runs the ARB shop in Kal yesterday and he tells me there are plenty of jobs out that way. PM me if you want his phone no.

Good luck with the move Dave. I'm sure you won't be out of work for long. I will keep my ear out for spannering jobs for you.

I think Geraldton were looking for a LR mechanic, but maybe a bit far out for you. You could try Boom, Freo Cranes etc but I know Boom were laying people off recently. A friend of mine is a manager for Boom down at Henderson. When I see him next will ask what is around.
With Cranes what specifically are you qualified in?
A bit of FIFO work around for mechanics and Crane ops.
The other option is check Alcoa, they are often looking for LV and HD mechanics and fitters. Westrac. BHP, Rio Tinto, FMG, Roy Hill. Plenty of shutdown work around as well.
What is your location in Perth as that will have a lot to do with it and how far you are prepared to travel.
    Cheers

Yeah a good LR mechanic would be nice very South of the River. Most workshops down here wont even look at a Land Rover. Why I do most of my own stuff now.

    I'm currently NOR in Carine.

My tickets are C6 CD DG.

If given the preference I prefer to work frennas and the smaller 8-12t mobile cranes (less sitting around waiting, more getting stuff lifted)

Im happy to travel anywhere thats reasonably close to public transport and as of yet havent picked a place to live other than at my parents place and maybe down in albany if a Job offer comes through.
