Ian - Both Unleaded and Diesel are "Distillates" I STUFFED UP

Distillate fuel is a petroleum fraction typically obtained through a conventional distillation process. It includes diesel fuels, which are normally used by diesel engines in cars and trucks, and fuel oils, which are used for space heating and to generate electric power.
Same with BP Ultimate being available in both..

Just look for the magic words - Unleaded Or Diesel

And yes, I'm one of those humans who owns my mistakes...

Whereby through simple attention and simple behaviours we can avoid such mistakes then we should do so...

Gav, when playing sparky - got some processes and procedures in place so you won't kill anyone? Of course you do!
No excuses would be acceptable in those instances..

Not hard to put a "process" in place to ensure one doesn't misfuel their vehicle.... I STUFFED UP

Must be a tough gig never making a mistake.......one of a kind

Perhaps you make a lot of mistakes? I STUFFED UP Feeling a little self conscious? I STUFFED UP or just being your usual self and jumping on any post of mine that you can I STUFFED UPI STUFFED UPI STUFFED UP

There's mistakes and then there is mistakes.

When making a mistake - ****ing own it... and then do something to prevent it happening again...

Don't expect everyone else to pay for being negligent though.

    TO ANSWER YOUR POST:
If you read the very post you quoted you would see I said WHEN I make a mistake I own it.. not that I don't make them - but I certainly don't make silly ones within my sphere of control.

Actually having the discipline to have processes in place is hard work, that and a few parts OCD, and a **** load of planning capability tied in with a drive to do everything right the first time...The ability to analyse a lot quickly is a skill set, it can be developed...

    Best of luck to you...

Er no not feeling self conscious but do make mistakes...and yes quoted the wrong post.

Er, I jump on heaps of posts of your, mainly the tech type ones as hey they are very informative.......

Nobody else paid for my stuff up.....via increased premiums as the company I work for doesn't insure it fleet.......and I agree with you I didn't think insurance companies cover mid-fuels but it seems they do.

Yep I own up to any mistake I make.....learnt that from a young age

It's natural to learn from mistakes but sometimes it takes a couple of times to get it right

I don't recall you posting any mistakes on the forum.....however your reply was in ya face and probably made the OP and other member feel a little uncomfortable......I was thinking you might have had some tech input to the fix or likely outcome instead members might now think twice about posting a mistake.

Best of luck....no sure what you mean??

Anyways I'm sure you can handle me jumping on your posts (which is rare), either the good or the bad........the percentage of your good posts (technical)!I read that I take something from compared to the crap ones where i just ignore is in favour of the good one........looking back I should have just ignored and never come back to the this thread.

I doubt we would ever have a beer but I do get heaps from your tech posts.

Yeah, me too but I wasn't going to tell anybody!

I always pull up at he same spot in the same service station in Nairne. Trouble was this day there was a car left in my way, no matter the hose will reach. I got out, grabbed the normal hose, you know the one I normally pull up to!!!!!
At about 50 litres I realised my mistake, cursed, went in and paid for the petrol I did not want, pushed the car (mine) away from the pump and called a mate to tow me home.
I then disconnected the fuel filter (Disco II) and ran all the fuel into jerry cans for fire lighting or cleaning parts.
It was a matter of cycling the ignition on and off many times but it worked.

Name with held to protect the guilty.

Yep Been there done that. Being on the road for 14 hours.

Was tired. Found out later it was common at Caltex as their Diesel label on the pump is black and one of their unleaded is dark blue.

Here is my old thread on it.

    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I suppose a return to full driveway service could dramatically reduce instances of wrong fueling ? Might even get a few more people jobs.
