SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - SOUTHEAST QUEENSLAND
for VERY HEAVY RAINFALL and FLASH FLOODING
For people in parts of the
Southeast Coast
and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts.
Issued at 2:40 PM Thursday, 1 December 2005.
At 2:35 PM , Bureau of Meteorology weather radar detected severe thunderstorms in the Sunshine Coast and hinterland areas. In particular a thunderstorm in the Noosa area has produced 128mm of rainfall during the last hour.
Very heavy rainfall and flash flooding are occurring.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES in your local government area, listed in the White Pages under either State Emergency Service or your local council.
The next warning is due to be issued by 3:40 PM.
This warning is also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate this warning being broadcast regularly.
Its under building on the Goldcoast that you have to worry about parking

Good storms through NSW this arvo. You can even see where the water has flowed unto our deck and washed the kid's sand pit though. Heaps of debrie on the roads.
Just nice soild rain here ( for a change )
