Disgraceful Hypocritical Australian Press.

Well, I'm OLD, and so I may be old fashioned, but this is what I saw.
I saw a large, solidly built TV reporter, CONTINUALLY trying to PUSH his way past security & various members of the S.A. Team, to get to the S.A. captain.
He was told, didn't have to be really, blind freddie could see that neither the team nor the captain would speak,..and why would they, with the issue still pending.
So, here's this quite large reporter, repeatedly trying to PUSH himself between security & team members, and laughing whilst doing it, literally sticking a microphone in a man's face, and it's then "reported" that what the team & security did was "Assault",...what an absolute joke.

This type of reporting is standard , I'm surprised it's only just been realised now. Look at any media reporter outside any court house and you will see the same or worse.
We live in a world that seems to believe it's people right to know what others have done/know/want/etc etc and get upset when they don't want to answer.

Then again the Kardashians have made a fortune out of feeding the masses with absolute rubbish.

I agree completely. That's the world we live in...

This is a snippet of what happened to me.


In 1994 I was attacked by a croc whilst spearfishing , at the time the Crocodile Dundee movies were the hit and croc stories were a sort after thing , especially a person who survived an attack. A prominent Sydney newspaper contacted me for the story which I refused to give.


The reporter then told me if I didn't give it to them they would make it up and run it, I replied I would seek legal advice if they did and she replied with "all we have to do is issue an apology " Later the editor contacted me and I told him about the attitude of his staff , and he said " we are the media we can do what we like "


Ever since then I have always looked at the media with the attitude that 99% of what they report is questionable and what angle are they coming from.


Was good when Penthouse contacted me for the story , until they said the photos wouldn't be with the centrefold....:(:(:(

Yes, the media have a lot to answer for. Look at the Paparazzi in England. But don't shoot the messenger. For every sensationalist journo working for the fringe media, there are many who do the right thing. Matthew Condon comes to mind. He is not only a very good investigative journalist, he is also a gentleman. Neil Davis was another. What a pity social media, such as General chat on AULRO, so often is used to vent some ones spleen, and start a negative diatribe. Another sign of the times.

Allow me to tell my media story. Some years ago, my wife and I travelled to Gundagai, for a family reunion. A great weekend, saturday the ladies took the children to the park, and consumed wine, whilst the men went to the pub. At closing time, the doors were shut , and the party continued. Early in the morning , as one party goer left, he walked into a sign on the footpath outside the pub. Next day, a senior family member, editor of the Gundagai newspaper, wrote so & so saw ufo on saturday night, as an in joke. Well, half the journos from Melbourne came up to interview him. We all had a good laugh, and that was it. I don't know what school the current batch of young journos went to, but they all have attitude. Don't blame the profession, blame our society for encouraging it.

Its very competitive now. The print media is losing readers to online news, so they sensationalize to get attention.
News Corp are the worst. The Telegraph is completely unbelievable and The Australian spins everything to favour Abbott, a former employee.
