    Was it actually a demo????
    Check the previous registrations of the vin no.Could even be on the written off register.

    And get a full written independent report, arranged through your motoring organization. Then use it to ask the dealer for a replacement vehicle. I suggest also write directly to Mazda Australia as the dealer's behaviour affects the reputation of Mazda. If it refuses then go to consumer affairs. If consumer affairs agrees with you, then seek legal aid for a prosecution. They may offer to repair the vehicle. Do not accept unless they agree your motoring organisation must certify the quality of the repairs is satisfactory.

    The car could have been damaged on the ship over here and repaired before the dealer received it. The dealer, or even Mazda Australia, may not have known that it was previously damaged. Find another repairer and get them to put it in writing, then go talk to Mazda Australia head office.

    Damage on boats does happen. I remember working down the warf one night and one of the gang took a wrong turn down a ramp and wedged a people mover between decks.
    Car was a write off in that case.
