Missus has an 2005 Outlander auto and she is happy with it. No problems with it so far. Not quite as good on fuel as i thought it mite be tho.
Customer at work has an auto trans bussiness, and his advise was to avoid the later CVT models, in fact just about anything CVT....when i quized him about the autos in them.
Just saw this and thought it might be helpful.

There are plenty about well over 300k.
I read somewhere that the Mitsubishi CVT's were OK - it's the Nissan ones that you should avoid like the plague.
Have never had anything to do with either myself though, so only repeating the comments of others. Next door's Outlander is auto and they are happy with it so far. ;)
Think it was mainly repair costs / parts availability when needed.Quote:

Dealer threw in a CVT service with fluid change into the deal.
Now to sell a 2006 Ford Focus Hatch and a 2005 Subaru Forester.
I have one, 2005 model I believe, around 125k on the clock.. no real issues so far (in the 3years I've had it)
