just been done for speeding-67 in a 40 zone

    G'day LRH100
In Qld, the School Speed Signs have times at the bottom I.E 7.30am-9.00am 2.30pm-3.30pm check if it has any they check the time on your "Swindle-Sheet" if it is 9.03--05 you can claim the fuzz's watch was wrong or if the sign was in anyway obscured you can claim that you didn't see it because you sneezed "ACT OF GOD" 8) It has worked for me a couple of times, once through a stop light on a motor bike in William street on my way up the Cross a lifetime ago ops:

There is nothing more embarrassing than being done for 67 in a 60k zone in a 1968 Series 2a by a local cop that knows ypou and your vehicle ops: , That's where the "ROCKET" came from ops: ops: Incisor's sense of humour

How can a Highway be reduced to such a walking pace???

There are highways throughout country NSW cut back to 50kph starting half a kilometre outside of each one horse town. I noticed driving round the outskirts of Sydney on Monday that much more heavily built up roads there are all 60kph - too many voters there I suppose.

The 50kph was originally supposed to be for residential areas, but has been applied in many places to major highways.

There is a contentious issue here in SA too.
The school zones run 365 and 24/7

A person under the age of 18 is considered a child (how you tell who knows) but if they are in the zone then you do 25....

This is every day of the year no exceptions.

    Cheers
    Mike

If only they put the revenue raised from the school zone fines into educating kids about the road rules and dangers of traffic it would make sense. :?

They could try and put the revenue into the crappy state of the
    NSW roads too.

    C'mon GET REAL
    Not this old chestnut again!!!!

Next thing you'll want politicians to work all year.
    Or stop having overseas "study"trips.
Or Road safety to be about road safety - not revenue

Well I for one won't stand for it.
Not 1/2 hr ago, there were two peelers with a radar (shoulder held), standing , behind overhanging bushes, on the road at highagate hill, and parked in a no standing zone between a bus stop and a pedestrian crossing!
Good work I say. Don't attempt to slow people down, just nick 'em and give em a bill. God knows we've all got loads of cash, because we aren't taxed enough.....
Why shouldn't we pay some peeler $50k to sit in a big TOJO all day reading the paper and occasionally checkng his camera?

OK I'll stop before I have an anurism and someone misinterprets my sarcasm!!!

I agree, LRH, there are too many instances od school zones on highways. The path outside the school should be fenced for that 100 metres.

The worst is Penannt Hills Rd. Kings school is a huge property so the school zone goies forever - then you get to the next school.

The 40 km/h zone along that road must go for nearly 2 km.
