SE QLD drivers don't know how to indicate at round a bouts

So now I understand, the signs have a different meaning, they warn you to merge right, but that's for stupid people, even though they give plenty of warning.

Then this signs actually means speed past everyone on the left and then when your lane comes to a dead end, cut in on the vehicle at the front that is waiting the only avail lane at that automated temporary traffic light that every one else has been waiting for to change green . Maybe some poeple don't know what this sign means

Merging is one thing, but cutting in when you are stupid enough to run out of road is arrogance.

True. I often wonder though if a series of public service ads could highlight those most mis understood rules and show correct procedure.

Where two lanes become one and the roads are heavily congested the logical approach is to use all of the available lane space.

Leaving one lane empty for any considerable distance (and it could be hundreds of metres) makes no sense at all. Everyone should stay in which ever lane they are in until the point where the lanes merge. Then an orderly zipper merge should occur.

I will concede that driving in a sensible and logical manner is beyond many Australians.

the new south wales drivers generally don't know how to take their foot off the loud pedal and the victorians don't have a clue what one is!

makes the bribie road an interesting place at times!

especially at the two places where multiple lanes become one...

coppers have been making a fortune!

Actually, this sign means one of the lanes is ending somewhere up ahead and it only a warning to prepare to merge. Merging is logically done at the actual merge point where the lanes converge. Anyone who does it differently then complains about others using the entire lane to the end just doesn't understand how is supposed to be done. Like round-abouts (to reference the original thread topic), just because most people do it a certain way doesn't mean it's the right way to do it.

This is the same with traffic lights where there is a lefthand stand-up lane. Most people get ****ed off when someone drives up the left lane then merges on the other side of the lights when the lane runs out, but this is exactly how it should work. More cars would get through the actual intersection if both lanes were fully used. I usually use the lefthand lane (the universal road rule in Australia is to keep as far left as practicable BTW) at lights but if someone in the right lane decides to have a hissy fit and block me from merging then I'll just wait and merge when I can. At least I got through the lights unlike the twenty other people who sat in a pointless queue while the lane next to them was empty.

It seems to be the dual lane roundabouts which cause the most confusion.
Crashes happen when a vehicle is in the outside lane, but continuing around, while another vehicle in the inside lane is turning left across the outside lane. The vehicle in the outside lane crashes into the passenger side of the vehicle in the inside lane when it turns across the outside lane. Is that clear?

ABC says SE Qlds have no idea how to indicate at round a bouts, I think people in Victoria don't either, don't know if the other states do, or whether indicators are an optional accessory that most drives don't buy when the buy their vehicles.

I often find it funny that some drivers of expensive cars like Bmws and Mercs Audis around here etc only buy the poverty pack model and don't pay the extra for the optional indicators!:mad:

The BMW and Merc drivers are also pretty good at hogging the fast lane on motorways while not actually going fast. Some get annoyed when I go round them in the Defender. 'How dare you go faster than me in that heap', I imagine them saying.
