Indicators are optional on ALL cars in Qld!!! Didn't you know that?
In spite of all the advertising that goes on with roundabout rules most drivers up this way still don't know the correct rules about indicating. And merging lanes - that's another one!!

re merging lanes LOL , Oh some of Victorians know how to merge on freeways, they safely drive down the freeway on ramp doing 60kph and then merge into traffic traveling at 100kph, they then close their eyes so to be oblivious of all the drivers behind they have caused to nearly pile up, then take their time to speed up to the speed limit.

Another thing some are very good at is zippering when 2 lanes merge into 1.
Road work signs saying the lane is ending and merge into the next lane. Most drivers will merge into the lane required, but there is always some one that will speed up the lane that's now empty as all others have merged, and then get to the front of the line and zoom in and cut off all the others who did the right thing.

You just need to have an extra set of eyes when your driving these days .

60% got it wrong according to that report. That's better than the 99% who get it wrong in NSW, including the Police.

Drivers in Bathurst have no idea about indicating at roundabouts neither. They're absolutely hopeless. They also don't know what a lane is or that green means go at traffic lights. Whilst I don't like the rush and proximity of Sydney traffic (takes me about 5 mins to adjust my driving style), it's safer to drive there.

The drivers that go to the end of the lane which is ending, then merge across, are doing it right. The most efficient use of the road is to use both of the lanes right up to the end. That will reduce the tailback which is caused by too many people changing lanes early.

Alas, not much better over here...

It ****es off those that are already stopped and waiting there turn patiently.
It's like a supermarket check out , you line up and some one then cuts in front.
So if you come to road works and there is stop light, you have been waiting patiently in turn to proceed, and then some one zips past you gives a flash of their indicator and cuts in front, gets through the stop light, and all others who waited patiently miss their chance and have to wait again for the road work lights to change , that's just
arrogance.

I can't be held responsible for the poor driving skills of others!

Note that I said "merge across" not "cut in front".
