Some Americans must be hopeless drivers.
BTW the Cube makes a lot of sense in Tokyo, where speeds are low and aerodynamics are unimportant. It has great headroom and maximises interior space on a short wheelbase. Stay off motorways though.

Does explain why the New Defender included extreme kerb strike testing - to prepare it for the US market.
Or modded a Classic..........

Difficult to say if it is a true photo or not. But I once had a Toyota Corolla rear end my old D1 - hitting the Disco’s rear bumper square on - no damage to my car, the Corolla was a write off.
But the Defenders lack of crumple zones and air bags is one of the reasons they could no longer continue to manufacture.
I once got rear ended by a Corolla - the bonnet crumpled up against the windscreen, leaving some white paint on my towbar. That was at about 10kph.
I think the Renault has turned right into the Defender's path, so an oblique head on.
