Speaking of which during a bit of a storm a couple of nights ago there was a sudden Thunderclap (One only not a roll) that sat me up vertically as I assume it would have done to anyone in Adelaide.

It can, depending on what you are measuring. For example, Mb or MB? Mb = megabit. MB = megabyte. Two completely different things.
ML or ml? ML = megalitre, ml = millilitre - a somewhat different volume.
I like to see units used correctly. One of my pet hates is kph instead of km/h. Have a look at your speedo. What does it show?
