I think this is the environment you will see the self driving vehicles in first. The location is already well mapped, they already use GPS based equipment and it is a place where there are few other independently moving objects to worry about. Do have an image of it firing laser bird frighteners as it moves
Will further reduce the number of jobs in rural areas and if they lock it down like some agricultural manufacturers currently do they will ‘own’ the farm. Can see them supplying the machine and all inputs then controlling it remotely from wherever their HQ or call centre is located. Farmer just supply’s the land and makes decisions in regard to when and what the crop will be. But then I did enjoy walking the fences and mending the broken wire which will still need the farmer so all is not lost
