Whoever designed the Cube was thinking outside the square!
I was there in Sept 1970 in a Ser II SWB HT.
My father went there in a Ser II Station Wagon in 1969 before Gordon Elmer started running the barge from Inskip Point. The Landy was driven onto a fishing boat, with front & rear hanging over each side & had to wait for the tide to be at the right level before embarking & disembarking.
Not too many others on the island in those days.
Gordon's barge started running sometime in 1968,from our records, unless the dates are wrong.
In those days we often wouldn't see another vehicle for weeks.
After 1970 we travelled extensively inland, with my fathers work, and holidays, using aerial photographs as there were no maps.
Our main base was at Comboo lake, which is now closed to the public.
Fun times in those days, and the fishing and crabbing was fantastic.
